F.O.C.U.S. is a dynamic initiative dedicated to empowering individuals with the financial education and services necessary to achieve financial independence and long-term success.
With a specialized focus on the stock market, investment strategies, and wealth-building techniques, we provide expert insights aimed at fostering financial literacy, particularly within underrepresented communities. Our goal is to equip individuals with the knowledge and tools needed to make informed financial decisions, ultimately working to close the wealth gap and build a secure, prosperous future.

OUR GOALS
Recruitment
Recruitment of 20 African-American male college students majoring in finance or demonstrating a strong interest in investing and financial independence.
Enrollment
Enrollment in a comprehensive 6 to 12-month program designed to equip participants with the essential knowledge, strategies, and tools for beginning their investment journeys and creating long-term wealth.
Training
Expert-led training and hands-on experience to guide participants in navigating the world of finance and wealth-building techniques.
Skill Development
Skill development that prepares students to engage in the financial markets, enabling them to make informed decisions and set themselves on a path toward financial freedom.
Empowerment
Empowerment through financial literacy, with an ultimate goal of fostering a generation capable of creating lasting positive change in their communities and beyond.

Rodney D. Manning, Jr.
Rodney D. Manning Jr. is the 90th Student Government Association President at Virginia Union University. A senior majoring in Finance and Banking from Prince George’s County, Maryland, Rodney is driven by a passion for helping others achieve financial literacy and independence. Through his academic studies, he has developed a robust understanding of investment strategies, the stock market, and wealth-building techniques. Rodney is committed to sharing this knowledge, particularly with individuals from underrepresented communities, to empower them to make informed and strategic financial decisions. His ultimate mission is to guide others toward financial freedom and create meaningful, positive change in their lives and communities.

Spanning 3 to 6 months, this comprehensive program offers participants hands-on training, personalized mentorship, and invaluable real-world experience in investment strategies and wealth management. Whether you are majoring in finance or have a strong passion for financial independence, this program provides the expertise and practical skills needed to embark on your investment journey and build lasting, generational wealth. Through expert guidance and tailored support, participants will gain the confidence and competence to make informed financial decisions and secure a prosperous future.
